At Empowered Boudoir Photography, we believe the magic behind the lens is just as important as what happens in front of it. Based in the heart of Manchester, our all-female team creates bold, alternative, and unapologetically inclusive boudoir experiences for clients of all identities. And we’re not just colleagues—we’re the co-founders, creatives, and confidence-boosters who live and breathe this work.

So, who are we?

📸 Laura – Photographer & Creative Powerhouse

She/her

Laura is the eye behind the lens—and the artistic soul of Empowered Boudoir. Specialising in coloured lighting effects and moody, editorial-style imagery, she’s the one who brings your boldest visions to life. Whether it’s capturing the softness of vulnerability or the fire of self-ownership, Laura’s strength is making people feel seen.

Her favourite part of a session? “Watching people shift from unsure to radiant. There’s always a moment where something clicks and they just… glow.”

Fun fact: Laura is a creative genius with a mild habit of putting her camera down mid-shoot and immediately forgetting where she left it (we call it part of her process).

💄 Jade – Hair & Makeup Artist and Transformation Queen

She/her

Jade is the magic behind the makeup brush and the hair wand—and the peaceful presence in the room. She specialises in both feminising and masculinising makeup looks, and works closely with each client to reflect their identity, their style, and their truth. Her chair is a safe space, and her toolkit is full of confidence.

“I love seeing people catch a glimpse of themselves in the mirror and soften. It’s not about changing anyone—it’s about helping them see what’s always been there.”

Fun fact: Jade is obsessed with Halloween and creative, dramatic makeup looks. Basically, if she could live in October forever, she would.

Our honorary third team member, Tuna the cat, has a knack for sneaking into at least one photo per shoot. Honestly, he’s building quite the portfolio.
